Frequently Asked Questions
Is this NDA template legally binding?
A signed NDA is a contract and is generally enforceable in the US when it’s reasonable and both sides agree to it. These are general templates, not legal advice, so have a lawyer review anything high value.
Which states can I use it in?
It’s written for use across the United States, with a blank for the state whose law applies. Some states restrict employee non-solicitation clauses, which is why that clause is optional.
What’s the difference between a one-way and a mutual NDA?
A one-way NDA protects one side’s information. A mutual NDA protects both sides when you’re both sharing.
Do I need Canva or special software?
No. You need Microsoft Word to edit, or a PDF reader and printer for the printable versions.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Right-click the logo badge, choose Change Picture and pick your file.
Does it include a non-compete?
No. Non-competes are banned or limited in many states. The set includes a narrower, optional non-solicitation clause instead.
