It is a standard .xlsx file with no macros, and a 16-page user guide is included.

Meal Planner Spreadsheet That Builds Your Grocery List

You know the Sunday scramble. What is for dinner, did we use the last of the rice, why is the shopping list still blank? This meal planner spreadsheet ends that. You type your family recipes in once. After that you pick meals from dropdown lists, and the grocery list writes itself.

It handles four full weeks, five meals a day. It adds up every ingredient, sorts the list by aisle, takes off whatever is already in your pantry, and tells you what the trip will cost.

Who It Is For

  • Busy families who want one clear plan for the week
  • Couples cooking for two on a set food budget
  • Meal preppers who cook in batches
  • Anyone tired of buying the same thing twice because it got lost in the fridge
  • People who watch calories and want a quick daily number

What This Meal Planner Spreadsheet Can Do

  • Plan 4 weeks at once. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, a side and a snack for every day.
  • Get an automatic grocery list. In the sample plan, 88 items across four weeks took zero typing.
  • Use up what you own. List your pantry and it comes off the shopping list. Use-by dates are flagged.
  • Know the cost. See the cost per meal, per day and per trip, plus how much of your weekly budget is left.
  • Watch calories and macros. Each day turns green, amber or red against your own calorie goal.
  • Shop smarter. Choose one week, two weeks or all four. Whole items round up, so 7.83 peppers becomes 8.
  • Feed different numbers. Set the people eating, then change it for a single day when guests come.

What Is Included

Two files, ready to use

  • Market & Table Meal Planner (.xlsx), empty and ready for your own recipes
  • 16-page user guide (.docx) with step-by-step instructions, tips and troubleshooting

Inside the workbook

  • Start Here: pick your theme, currency symbol, start date, people eating, budget and calorie goal
  • Dashboard: four charts for weekly cost, daily calories, spending by aisle and macro split
  • Week 1 to Week 4: the planners, with notes for every day
  • Shopping List: automatic, grouped by aisle, with tick boxes and an extras panel for soap and coffee
  • Pantry: 200 rows with use-by status
  • Recipe Book: an index of all your recipes, with filters for favorites and quick meals
  • Recipe Cards: 100 cards, 12 ingredient lines each, plus method and nutrition

The workbook arrives blank. You will not find sample recipes to delete. The user guide shows you how to fill your first recipe in about two minutes. The pictures in this listing use a filled sample copy that is not part of the download.

How It Works

  1. Add a few regular recipes on the Recipe Cards sheet. Name, servings, then each ingredient with quantity, unit, aisle and cost.
  2. Open a Week sheet and pick meals from the dropdowns. Leftovers and Eating out are built in and add nothing to the list.
  3. List what you already own on the Pantry sheet.
  4. Open the Shopping List, choose which weeks to shop for, and print it or tick items off.
  5. Check the Dashboard for cost, calories and budget.

Make It Yours

Four color themes ship inside the file: Blush Mauve, Sage Garden, Ocean Blue and Warm Terracotta. Change the theme on the Start Here sheet and every sheet follows. Type your own currency symbol once, whether that is $, EUR or R, and every price and total uses it. Dropdown lists, the 12-line recipe cards and the extras panel are all yours to fill.

File Format and Software
