Attic Letters is a set of printable junk journal pages that look like paper you’d find tucked in an old trunk. Warm parchment. Burned, layered edges. Faded stamps of roses, ferns, lace and postmarks that stay near the edges so you still have room to write. You get 39 printable sheets in US Letter and A4, and each one folds in half into two journal pages.
It isn’t only background paper, either. Every design comes lined and blank, and there are mixed, graph and dot grid spreads, a cover spread, and five sheets of matching ephemera. Print it tonight. Bind your first signature tomorrow.
What these printable junk journal pages give you
Most vintage journal paper packs give you a handful of backgrounds and stop there. This one is built so you can make a whole journal from a single download.
- 12 original designs, each as a lined spread and a blank spread
- 4 mixed spreads with lines on one side and a blank page on the other
- 2 graph paper and 2 dot grid spreads for lists, trackers and lettering
- 1 cover spread with a front title label and a “This journal belongs to” back cover
- 5 ephemera sheets: journaling cards, 10 tags, 5 bookmarks, 2 pockets, tuck strips and photo corners
- Ink Saver edition with lighter backgrounds for everyday printing
- 50 digital JPG pages for digital journaling
- An illustrated user guide that walks you through printing, folding and binding
That works out to 64 journal pages from 32 writing spreads, plus the cover and extras.
The 12 vintage journal page designs
Each design has its own small story. Mix them in one signature or keep a journal to a single theme.
- Rose Bough: rose branches curling in from the corners
- Dear Friend: a faded handwritten letter across the whole page
- Post & Parcel: postmarks, stamps and scraps of old correspondence
- Fern Hollow: fern fronds rising from the lower corners
- Printer’s Drawer: old print-shop type, a ruler edge and a big date
- Meadow Edge: wildflowers and grasses along the bottom
- Ledger Days: a household account book with a few entries
- Ivy Lane: ivy climbing the outer edge
- Parlor Trellis: a soft diamond trellis with tiny flowers
- Old Voyage: a compass rose, map lines and a dotted route
- Lace & Linen: crochet lace in every corner
- Nocturne: lines of sheet music with a rose sprig
Who it’s for
Junk journal makers who love a neutral, vintage look. Scrapbookers who want backgrounds and ephemera that match. People who journal by hand and want paper with a bit of character. And digital journalers, who can drop the JPG pages into any app that accepts images.
Real ways people use them
- A travel journal built around Old Voyage and Post & Parcel pages
- A garden or nature notebook using Fern Hollow, Meadow Edge and Ivy Lane
- A letter-writing or memory journal for a parent or grandparent
- A gratitude or prayer journal you add to a page at a time
- Handmade gift journals for birthdays, weddings and holidays
- Craft night with friends, where everyone binds their own signature
How it works
- Print. Pick US Letter or A4 and print in landscape at 100% scale.
- Fold. Fold each sheet in half along the narrow gap in the middle.
- Bind. Nest 4 to 6 folded sheets together, then stitch or staple the fold. Wrap the cover spread around it.
The PDFs have bookmarks, so you can jump straight to “Lined, Fern Hollow” or “Tags” instead of scrolling through 39 pages.
Close-up details
The artwork is drawn in an engraved, rubber-stamp style and then faded, so it reads as old ink instead of loud decoration. Lines are spaced 5/16 inch apart, about 22 to a page, with a short date line at the top. They’re vector lines, which means they print crisp at any size. The parchment and art are rendered at 200 dpi.
Sizes and file formats
- US Letter PDF: 8.5 × 11 in sheets that fold to 5.5 × 8.5 in pages
- A4 PDF: A4 sheets that fold to A5 pages
- Ink Saver PDFs: the same 39 sheets in both sizes with lighter backgrounds
- Digital pages: two ZIP files with 50 single pages as JPGs (1100 × 1700 px)
- User guide: an illustrated DOCX guide
What you need
A free PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader or your browser works fine), a home printer or a local print shop, and paper. Regular copy paper is fine for practice. A cream 24 to 32 lb paper (90 to 120 gsm) feels more like the real thing, and cardstock is best for the cover, tags and bookmarks.
Customizing your journal
Write your own title on the cover label. Brush pages with cold tea for extra age. Ink the edges, tear them, or print a few pages at 90% and tuck them between full-size ones for a layered look. Low on ink? Swap in the Ink Saver edition for everyday pages and keep the full-color set for favorite spreads.
Digital download
This is an instant digital download. Nothing is shipped. Your files are ready right after checkout, and you can print them as many times as you like for your own use. Colors can look a little different from screen to paper depending on your printer.
