There’s a moment every planner person knows. You open a new printable, scroll through the pages, and think “this is the one”. Three weeks later it’s buried under a pile of receipts because it didn’t have a budget page, or the daily layout was too small, or it only printed on Letter paper and you live somewhere that uses A4.
The best printable planners avoid that by fitting how you actually plan. Some people want one binder for everything. Others want a single daily page, printed fresh every morning. Some live by the hour. A few want to rewrite every label.
So we put twelve printable planners side by side: big all-in-one bundles, daily planners, weekly planners and a time-blocking grid. We compared page counts, paper sizes, whether you can type into them, and who each one suits. You’ll get quick picks, a comparison table, a short review of each, and a buying guide.
Already know you want a specific type? We’ve also written deeper guides to the best printable daily planner pages, weekly planner printables and printable planner bundles. This page is the overview.

How we compared them
A printable planner lives or dies on paper. So we cared less about cover designs and more about what happens when you hit print.
- Coverage. Does it handle one job well (your day, your week) or many jobs in one binder?
- Paper sizes. US Letter, A4, A5 and Half Letter all matter, depending on where you live and what binder you own.
- Typing. A fillable PDF lets you type the boring bits and print them neat. Some also add up totals for you.
- Ink. Low-ink or ink saver versions make a real difference if you print every week.
- Dated or undated. Undated pages never go to waste. Dated calendars save you writing in every month.
The 12 best printable planners, reviewed
Life in Order Planner Bundle
Best overallIf you’re tired of juggling three half-used notebooks, Life in Order is the fix. It gathers 141 undated templates into eight colour-coded planners: daily, weekly and monthly; productivity; goals and habits; finance; health and fitness; meals; home and family; and self-care. Print what you need and keep it all in one binder.
The finance section alone runs to 23 pages, with paycheck budgets, a bill tracker for all 12 months, sinking funds and a 100-square debt payoff colouring chart. No currency symbol is printed, so it works wherever you are. The meal section includes a grocery list split into eight store sections, and the productivity pages add a Kanban board, a priority matrix and Cornell notes.
The small touches make it easy to live with. Page numbers match across every size, so “print page 73” always gets you the Monthly Budget. A wider left margin leaves room for the hole punch. And if your printer doesn’t take A5 or Half Letter paper, the 2-per-sheet files print two pages on one sheet with a cut line.
| Templates | 141 undated, in 8 planners |
|---|---|
| Sizes | US Letter, A4, A5, Half Letter, plus 2-per-sheet files |
| Ink saver | Yes, black and grey versions of every size |
| Dated pages | 2027 monthly calendars and 2027 to 2028 year pages |
| Guide | 11-page user guide in DOCX and PDF |

- Clickable contents and bookmarks for finding pages
- Matching page numbers across all sizes
- Any currency
Keep in mind

See everything inside →Well-Kept Life Planner
Best with dated calendarsWell-Kept Life is the closest rival to Life in Order, with one clear difference: it includes 32 dated calendar pages running from October 2026 to December 2027, in Monday and Sunday start. If you hate writing out every month by hand, that’s worth a lot. The other 118 pages are undated, so you can reprint them for years.
It covers seven sections. The productivity set is a little bigger here (20 pages, including an assignment tracker, class schedule and reading log), which makes it a strong choice for students. Finance gets 23 pages again, with zero-based, 50/30/20 and paycheck budgets, a bill calendar and a debt payoff plan for snowball or avalanche.
The Start Here page suggests six ready-made page sets, such as Money Reset and Student and Study, which helps if 118 pages feels like a lot to choose from. Colour and Ink Saver versions both come in four sizes plus 2-up files with cut marks.

See everything inside →Mix & Match Planner Library
Best build-your-ownMost planners lock you into one layout for a whole year. This one is a library. You get 95 undated templates across eight sections (Plan, Goals, Habits, Wellness, Home, Money, Mindset and Notes), and you build the planner you want from them. When your weeks change, swap the pages out.
Each template has a short code printed at the bottom, like PL10 for the Daily Planner, and page numbers match across all four sizes, so reprinting a favourite takes seconds. The Mindset section stands out: a thought reframe page, a mental clutter sort, cut-out coping toolkit cards and 30 journal prompts. The Money section adds a tax deduction log, which is handy for side businesses.
It’s the only bundle here that also includes a hyperlinked digital version, 119 pages with side tabs and a home button, for GoodNotes, Notability, Noteshelf or Xodo. So you can plan on a tablet and print only the pages you want on paper. You also get 3 covers and 8 section dividers.
| Templates | 95 undated, 109 pages per size |
|---|---|
| Sizes | US Letter, A4, A5, Half Letter |

See everything inside →DayBright Printable Productivity Planner
Best for goalsMost planners make you pick: big goals or daily tasks. DayBright connects them. It starts with a year at a glance and a goal planner, then works down through months, weeks and single days, so what you do at 2pm on Tuesday ties back to what you want by December.
There are 25 templates. The Goal Planner breaks each of your top three goals into steps with due dates and a progress bar. The monthly habit tracker handles 14 habits on a full 31-day grid. The weekly review rates energy, focus, productivity, mood and wellbeing from 1 to 5. And the Weekday Rainbow daily pages give each weekday its own colour, so you can spot Thursday at a glance.
It’s fillable in Acrobat Reader, comes in 8 colours (Graphite is black and white for saving ink) and 5 sizes, including Classic Happy Planner size. That’s 45 PDF files, so you can run blue months, green weeks and rainbow days if you like.
| Templates | 25, undated |
|---|---|
| Sizes | US Letter, A4, A5, Half Letter, Classic Happy Planner |

See everything inside →Daily Balance Planner
Best for health routinesDaily Balance puts your whole day on one calm page: top priorities, schedule, water, sleep, steps, a workout line, meals, a little money tracker and three things you’re grateful for. Then it builds the week around it with 22 pages in total, including a workout planner and log, body progress, a weekly meal planner and a grocery list sorted by store section.
The fillable PDF is clever. Every writing space is a form field. On the Money Tracker, money in, money out and the difference fill in for you, and amount boxes only accept numbers so a typo won’t break your totals. The Workout Planner adds up your weekly minutes the same way. Totals work in Acrobat Reader and the Firefox PDF viewer, but not in simpler viewers like Apple Preview.
It comes in four sizes and five colourways (Sand, Blush, Mist, Sage and Ink-Saver). Someone training for a first 5K could print a stack of daily pages on Sunday, keep them on a clipboard and watch the weekly minutes climb.
| Pages | 22, undated |
|---|---|
| Sizes | US Letter, A4, A5, Half Letter |
| Colourways | 5, including Ink-Saver |
| Fillable | Yes, with money and workout totals |
| Hourly page | 5am to 10pm in 30-minute blocks |
What we like
- Fitness and meals built into the daily system
- Money and workout totals add themselves
- Clickable side tabs on screen

See everything inside →Clear Day Daily Planner
Best for days that varyNo two days are the same, so why use one layout for all of them? Clear Day gives you four. The Daily Planner page holds three priorities, a 13-line to-do list, an hourly schedule from 6am to 11pm, meals, water, money in and out, mood and gratitude. Time Block is a half-hour grid with a brain dump. Focus Day has one big thing, a priority matrix and focus rounds. Reflect covers routines, wins, lessons and a 1 to 10 day rating.
Try Time Block on meeting days and Focus Day on the crowded ones. Every line, box and mood face is fillable, and the hour labels can be changed, so your day can start at 4am or noon.

Best for time blockingSome weeks run you. FlowBlock helps you run the week instead. Every day is split into hour rows from 6am to 10pm, with a dotted half-hour line inside each, so a 20-minute call and a three-hour study block both have a home. Seven days, 17 hour rows, one page.
You get landscape grids for roomy boxes and portrait grids for binders, each in Monday and Sunday start, plus seven daily planners, a weekly to-do list, a habit and wellness tracker for ten habits, and a weekly review. Buying guide: what to look for in a printable planner
1. Decide the job first
Are you planning your day, your week, or your whole life? A bundle like Life in Order is brilliant if you want budget, meals and fitness in one binder, and overkill if you only need a to-do list. For single-job planners, our guides to printable daily planners and weekly planner printables go into more detail. For the big sets, see the printable planner bundle guide.
2. Match the paper to your binder
US Letter is standard in the US and Canada. A4 is standard almost everywhere else. A5 and Half Letter suit smaller ring and disc planners. If your printer only takes full sheets, look for 2-per-sheet files, which several planners here include. DayBright is the only one with Classic Happy Planner size.
3. Typing or handwriting?
Fillable PDFs let you type long lists and print them neat, and some go further. Daily Balance adds up your money and workout minutes for you. The bundles are made for handwriting. If you want to know how typing works on each device, read our guide to the fillable PDF planner.
4. Think about ink
A planner you print every week can eat through cartridges. Most planners here have a low-ink, ink saver, Mono or Graphite version. Use colour for the pages you keep and the ink saver for daily pages you’ll throw away.
5. Dated or undated
Undated pages start whenever you do and never go to waste. Dated calendars save you writing in twelve months by hand. Well-Kept Life gives you both, and Life in Order adds 2027 monthly calendars to its undated pages.
Tip: slide your most-used pages, like a chore chart or weekly meal plan, into sheet protectors and write on them with a dry-erase marker. You’ll print far less.
How to build a printable planner binder in an afternoon
- Pick your binder size and download the matching file: Letter or A4 for full size, A5 or Half Letter for a small planner.
- Print a test page at 100% or Actual size and check the margins before printing the rest.
- Choose five to eight pages to start. For example: monthly calendar, weekly planner, daily page, habit tracker, monthly budget and meal planner.
- Punch on the wider left margin and add section dividers so you can flip to each area fast.
- Set a weekly print slot. Sunday evening is popular: print the week’s daily pages and a fresh meal plan.
- Review after a month. Drop the pages you skipped and add the ones you wished you had.
Want to go further? Our step-by-step guide on how to build your own planner from printable pages walks through choosing sections. Best printable planners FAQ
What is the best printable planner?
For most people, Life in Order. It covers your days, money, meals, health, home and wellbeing in 141 undated pages and four paper sizes. If you’d rather have dated monthly calendars, pick Well-Kept Life. If you want only a daily page, Clear Day is the most flexible.
Can I type into a printable planner?
Many of them, yes. DayBright, Daily Balance, Clear Day, FlowBlock, Washi Doodle, Little Wins, Calm Day and BrightDay all have fillable PDFs. Open them in a reader that supports forms, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or, for some, Chrome. The big bundles and Clearweek’s PDFs are made for handwriting, though Clearweek can be edited in Word.
What size should I print my planner?
Use US Letter for most binders in the US and Canada, and A4 almost everywhere else. A5 and Half Letter suit smaller ring and disc planners. If you don’t have small paper, use a 2-per-sheet file and cut each sheet in half.
Can I print the pages more than once?
Yes. All of these are licensed for personal use, so you can print as many copies as you need for yourself and your household. Sharing or reselling the files isn’t allowed.
Are these physical planners?
No. They’re instant digital downloads. You download the files after checkout and print at home or at a print shop. Nothing is shipped.
The verdict
If you want one binder that does it all, get Life in Order. It’s the most complete of the best printable planners we compared, and it works in any currency and any of four sizes. Prefer dated months? Well-Kept Life is a near twin with calendars from October 2026. And if your week changes all the time, the Mix & Match Library lets you rebuild your planner whenever you like.
